Gingrich Agrees with Obama
Former House speaker Newt Gingrich
You'd think that President Obama and former House speaker Newt Gingrich would have nothing in common other than occupying the same planet, but last month Gingrich published an opinion article in the Washington Times agreeing with Obama's FY 2011 NASA budget proposal.
Titled "Obama's Brave Reboot for NASA," it was co-written by Robert S. Walker, a former House Science and Technology Committee Chairman who until recently was Brevard County's space lobbyist in Washington, D.C.
The article begins:
Despite the shrieks you might have heard from a few special interests, the Obama administration's budget for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration deserves strong approval from Republicans. The 2011 spending plan for the space agency does what is obvious to anyone who cares about man's future in space and what presidential commissions have been recommending for nearly a decade.
