CCDev Designers Convene in Cocoa Beach

Florida Today reports that "NASA and space industry partners met Tuesday to discuss how they’ll develop commercial systems for flying astronauts, covering details ranging from crew safety to who would provide the astronauts’ food."

NASA next summer plans to award a contract to at least two U.S. developers of commercial systems that will become the favorites to resume human spaceflights on American vehicles launching from Florida.

Before opening a competition at the end of this year, the agency is hammering out the technical requirements providers must meet and soliciting feedback to fine-tune them.
